The circumstance of safe coal mine underground is an key factor to guarantee the healthyof miner and the safety of production equipment. Therefore, Develop an informationmonitoring and management of coal mine will be inevitable trend. the existing mineenvironment monitoring network has the problems of cable network limited, inflexible, wasteof energy in wireless network and so on. In view of the above questions, A wireless sensornetwork system for monitoring the environment of underground coal mine was designed inthis paper. The system can be used to monitor the environment of underground coal mine bywearing or installing on the mobile device.On the basis of researching the monitoring wireless sensor network products of coal mineat domestic and abroad, this paper put forward a design scheme based on ANT. And thescheme includes eight wireless sensor nodes and a main control center.Both of them formwireless star network.The sensor nodes include the network protocol module based on ANT technology, thecontrol module based on MSP430F149, the sensor module for data collection, PCB antennamodule and battery power module. Consideration of the special requirements of the mineproduction equipment. The design improving it. Among them, low power performance is thekey part of sensor node in the design.The main control center includes the center receiving node and PC, the form of thecenter nodes module are similar with sensor nodes. The PC interface written byLabWindows/CVI and can realize data acquisition, numerical display, waveform and datastorage function.The software design of sensor node and the main control center include the programdesign of interface driver between MSP430F149and each chip, the program design of data acquisition based on sensor, the program design of receiving and sending based on thewireless, and the program design of PC.The test results show that in the interior and exterior of different environmentalconditions, the sensor nodes can achieve the data transmission function stably in a radius ofthe circle of35m. Through the performance test, the results conform to the initial designrequirements.
