The part involved in this topic is a conical cylindrical workpiece, its features are: largesize, thin wall, high precision size and high performance requirement,up and down ofcylinder diameter are not the same,and height is also not the same.It has been manufactureby the way of mechanical cutting with steel as raw materials, the old method is high energyconsumption and high production cost,it does not meet the energy saving requirement andmass production.For these questions,this paper use of7A04aluminum alloy as rawmaterials in instead of steel materials, and use technology of isothermal precision plasticforming,which research for the forming process of aluminum alloy with a conicalcylindrical workpiece.The research method is on DEFORM-3D computer numerical simulation softwarecombined with experimental.Proposing preliminarily scheme is simulated. There are someproblems in the analysis of simulation results, for example: the workpiece strain isequivalent,deformation uniformity is poor, the required load is high, up to1700tons, butour equipment do not have enough forming load. A new forming process is formulatedthrough the analysis of this series of problems,We finally determine the process:blanking→preforming→punching→the hollow billet composite extrusion.Load reduced toabout800t from1700t. And researching the simulation of the different preform, differentpunching impact on forming parts; Finally, the hollow billet composite extrusion formingprocess have be simulated as well as optimized, and analysis of The influence of the metalflow rule, the different extrusion speed and friction coefficient on the extrusion process, andmake the reasonable extrusion process parameters. Based on the simulation, we design the mold assembly drawing, and trial production.The results show that: The isothermal precision plastic forming technology is reasonableand feasible.which can reduce the forming load,and metal flow is uniform,part filling effectis good, the dimensional precision and properties can meet the requirements, and thematerial utilization rate than the traditional process to improve a times, reduce theproduction cost, and has good economic benefit,which can provide reference of the energysaving process for such a large conical cylindrical workpiece forming technology.
