Hyperbranched polymers contain many advantages such as a large number ofend-groups, high reactivity and good rheological behavior. It is easy to graft a newgroup by chemical modification in order to obtain a novel application. In recent years, many hyperbranched polyesters which contain double bond have been reported bydomestic and overseas researchers. This kind of hyperbranched polyester can cross linkwith itself and can also polymeric with other monomers. For these advantages, in thisdissertation, modified hyperbranched polyester was prepared and a novel cationicpolymer was synthesized. The structure and properties of the polymers were studied. The application on antistatic agent and fixing agent were investigated. The details wereas follows:1. The modified hyperbranched polyester (WHBP) was synthesized by acrylicacid (AA) and glycidyl trimethylammonium chloride (GTA). After that, a cationichyperbranched polyacrylamide P(WHBP-AM-AGE) was synthesized by WHBP,acrylamide (AM) and allyl glycidyl ether (AGE). The structures and properties werestudied by FTIR,1HNMR and TG-DTG. The optimal synthetic conditions were asfollows: m(AM): m(AGE): m(WHBP)=1:1:2, initiator was1.5%, the temperaturewas80oC and the reaction time was5h.2. The synthetic P(WHBP-AM-AGE) was used as antistatic agent on nylonfabric. After the fabric was treated at the temperature of170oC for120s under theconcentration of25g/L, and the pH=5~7, the static voltage of treated fabric was0.13kV and the half-time was0.09s. After10launderings, the static voltage of treated fabricwas0.48kV and the half-time was0.56s. Moreover, the shape and elements on treatedfabric were also tested by SEM and XPS, respectively. All the results indicated that theexcellent antistatic property and durability of P(WHBP-AM-AGE) were acquired.3. The synthetic P(WHBP-AM-AGE) used as a cationic fixing agent on direct dyes was investigated. The optimal fixing process was that: padding twice (25g/L offixing agent, pH=7~9,70~80%of liquid rate)â†'drying at the temperature of80oCâ†'baking at the temperature of160oC for120s. The excellent fixing properties on directdyes (direct red, direct yellow and direct blue) were obtained. The rub fastness wasimproved about0.5~1degree, the soaping fastness was improved about0.5degreesand the light fastness changed a little. Furthermore, the fixing property on direct yellowwas stable, but made a certain degree influence on the color of treated fabrics whichwere dye by direct red and direct blue. In addition, the surface shapes of untreated andtreated fabrics were investigated by SEM.
