Poly(acrylonitrile-co-butadiene-co-styrene) material (ABS material) is one of the general purpose plastics, which has combinated performances. However, owing to its well electric-insulation, in some particular fields, it is its electric insulation resulting in static accumulated on the surface and inside of ABS that has limited its further application. In this study, the preparation of antistatic ABS material was divided into two main parts, including the synthesis of the antistatic agent and the post processing course. With regard to the synthesis of dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA),105℃was chosen to be the reaction temperature and 1 wt% dibutyltin dilaurate as the catalyst within 4 to 5 hours. Finally, the productivity of this reaction got to 80%. When the synthesis of cationic quaternary ammonium also dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate bromobutane (MABB) was concerned, the optimal condition of this reaction was also chosen, where aceton was selected as the solvent and 30 hours used to be the reaction time under the condition of 40℃. And the synthesis of poly(MABB-St) can be synthesized by free radical polymerization. In order to observe the effect of the mole ratios between the two monomers on the antistatic ability of the prepared antistatic ABS blends, the two monomers were fed by different mole ratios of MABB:St 3:7, 4:6,5:5,6:4 and 7:3. Morever, anhydrous ethanol was adopted to be the solvent within 8 hours under 60℃. Finally, the preparation of antistatic ABS blends were completed by using the formula of macromolecular antistatic agent with MABB:St 3:7, and 25wt%of this type of antistatic agent in the blends was used. Besides, two different crafts of processing, including pure injection molding and the manner of extrudation and injection molding, were adopted to observe which manner could obtain the better comprehensive properties of the prepared ABS blends. SEM and surface contact angle measurement were applied to observe the distributions of antistatic agents inside the samples made by the two crafts, and the results were that samples made by the manner of extrudation and injection molding displayed the better dispersion.
