Isophorone. the first generation of derivative of acetone chemistry.is a high boiling point solvent,fine chemical intermediate and an important raw material of fine chemical industry.lt is widely used in medicine,pesticide,paint and other industries.There is not a manufacturer providing it in our country and we need to import it for industrial use.In this work.the effect of the preparation conditions of the catalysts on its activity was studied.We tested the activity for catalyst under the same reaction conditions using the method of single factor.and we optimized the catalyst preparation conditions.The acidity and basicity of catalysts was studied by the method of TPD.The catalysts with different Mg/Al ratios were studied by XRD and ICP technology.Thermal analysis on the dry catalysts has been completed in order to investigate the calcination temperature of the catalysts.Aldol condensation of acetone over the catalysts was researched.The main experimental results and conclusions are as follows:The catalysts of Mg-Al mixed oxides are effective catalyst for aldol condensation of acetone.
