Lake comprises an important part of surface water. However, the ever increasing water pollution indicates an urgent demand for its online monitoring and the next step water quality assessment. In this paper, supported by Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), Wireless Communication Technology and Ontology, a program for lake water monitoring based on IoT is proposed and studied modules of real-time data collection and water quality assessment&prediction. The major work is as following:(l)As current methods for water quality monitoring with single detection node and unable to fully reflect the lake water quality, in this paper, based on the theory of WSN, a platform for lake water information acquisition is established, achieved fully water quality data collection by applying Zigbee WSN technology, and realized reliable transmission and efficient processing of water parameters through GPRS communication technology and middleware technology.(2)As current water quality assessment methods with low comprehensive analysis level and weak knowledge expression ability, in this paper, an intelligent decision strategy based on ontology and grey theory is proposed an studied, and achieved semantic illustration of lake water domain information and intelligent analysis and diagnosis by applying ontology, besides, achieved accurate prediction of water quality trend through grey theory, thus realized intelligent management of lake water monitoring.(3)As traditional website scheme is kind of fuzzy hierarchical model and with high code redundancy&low development efficiency, in this paper, a framework based on SSH2is proposed and achieved lightweight design of the application system, besides, the development cycle is greatly shortened and enhanced codes’flexibility and reusability and improved system’s scalability and maintainability by applying SSH2, thus achieved stable and fast data access.Based on the standard GB3838-2002, five categories of surface water are sampled and evaluated, and test and verification results indicate that, the lake water monitoring system based on IoT proposed in this paper made full use of advantages of Zigbee WSN technology in large scale water area monitoring and ontology in domain knowledge expression and reasoning, information access timely and accurately, thus achieved automatic monitoring and intelligent management of lake water, the system enjoys high practical use value.
