In this essay, diethanolamine was used to modify the mixed solution of epoxy resin and toughener, and acrylic acid was added in order to generate salt and make the mixture water-soluble. Then the mixed epoxy resin emulsion was prepared with the addition of zinc powder, curing agent and a variety of additives, which was the aqueous organic zinc-rich primer with excellent anti-corrosion properties. In addition, any organic solvent was not used throughout the process.Water-soluble organic zinc-rich primer is almost free of volatile organic compounds.; the corrosion resistance of coating is very well and the paint could immerse in salt water or salt spray more than2000h; this coating has good toughness because of the addition of toughener which could overcome the disadvantage of poor toughness after curing the bisphenol A type epoxy resin. Low amount of zinc powder. There is an excellent anticorrosion effect when zinc powder is only60%of the total mass.
