The Productivity of hot rolling mill is very important in the whole iron and steel industry.Based on the precise control of the width of the rolling mill,the amount of edge cutting,head parts cutting and tail parts cutting can be decreased,at the same time,it can increased the converted timber rate of the strip and make conditions for further machining. So the technique of width control has been always the one of important study questions for discussion.This Paper mainly studies the technique of the width control of ASP1700E1edge mill which belongs to An Steel.It introduces the development of the technique.In addition,this paper describes the Automatic Width Control(AWC) technique in detail,including the composing and the control principle of the AWC hydraulic system.AWC can be explained as follows:because of the change of rolling force,the space between two rollers of edge mill change followed,and then the equipment installed AWC adjust the side displacement to compensate the changing.The ASP1700strip is the first independent and intellectual of casting-continuous rolling strip which designed,manufactured,constructionde by ourselves. The ASP1700strip can produce250million tons every year,the production mode is:Automatic rolling;Hot&cold mill rolling.With the increasing of customer’s demand and production rhythm,people pay more attention to the width of the mill,the width-controlling accuracy has become the key factor affecting product quality.Through the technical innovation of hydraulic system to improve the E1accuracy of the width-controlling, it can be good to improving technology and improving the market competition.Based on the study of the ASP1700strip,the principle that the transfer function of open-loop system has only one closed-loop configuration with unit feedback,compensator of the AWC hydraulic system is designed with the tool box of MATLAB/simulink.Finally the experimentation validates the correctness of the simulation and compensator.These parameter comes from the ASP1700strip E1edge mill, also provides a direction and thereunder for our fieldwork in An Steel.
