With the development of modern high performance of weapon system, thesecurity problems have become increasingly prominent. In order to adapt to the highperformance of weapon equipment, every country has actively carried out research oninsensitive high explosive properties, the mechanical environment will have a greatinfluence on the detonation properties before the service, thereby affecting the survivalability and combat efficiency of weapon, so the mechanical properties of explosives assafety study is attracting an important component of attention. Casting PBX is theprimary representative of pouring curing explosives.Because of different purposes ofthe battle,casting PBX against overload performance requirements isdifferent.Generally speaking,only when tensile strength reach3~5MPa andcompressive strength reach more than10MPa can casting PBX meet the different needsof warhead charge requirements.However, the current study of casting PBXproperties of explosives from the requirement still has a certain difference, thereforethis topic in PBX increasing the mechanical properties of explosives was researched.In order to improve the PBX column mechanical strength, the most direct andeffective method is to improve the adhesive matrix strength,ie.designing andsynthetizing the molecular, developing a reinforcing agent to introduce into PBXpropellant formulations, through the chain extension reaction, adding a binder matrixof hard segment content, while increasing the cross-linking density, thereby greatlyimproving the mechanical properties of HTPB binder matrix to improve themechanical strength of PBX propellant objective.The topic has chosen piperazine and propylene oxide as the main raw material,and used the atmospheric synthesis and high pressure synthesis of the two differenttechnologies to synthesize the N, N-(β-hydroxypropyl) piperazine, considering time,temperature, ratio of raw materials. And then compare the quality of the two kinds ofprocess, it was determined to use the high pressure synthesis method which has moreadvantages. High pressure reaction conditions are: reaction time1h, reactiontemperature40℃, anhydrous piperazine and propylene oxide in a molar ratio of1:2.0.Preparation of N, N-(β-hydroxypropyl) piperazine new reinforcing agent,respectively be and BDO for the HTPB/TDI binder matrix chain extension reaction, thermal curing process for the preparation of PU elastomer film.Through the filmtensile test, the breaking elongation and tensile strength to the study of new reinforcingagent whether the film has advantages or not. Test results show that the breakingelongation and tensile strength of using the N, N-(β-hydroxypropyl) piperazine newreinforcing agent of film are greatly improved, compared with the use of BDO film.In addition, this topic developed a new reinforcing agent can be used in PBXreinforcement, but also can be used for general civil polyurethane productdevelopment and modification.
