With the development of petroleum exploration and production process, the geological conditions facing the drilling engineering becomes more and more complicated. It has become one of the most urgent problems which need to be solved during drilling process that how to predict formation pressure before drilling and monitor formation pressure while drilling accurately by integrated utilization of various data. In recent years, the advancement of drilling technology and the increasing maturity of information fusion technology in the computer field lays the technology foundation for scientific prediction and accurate monitoring of formation pressure.This paper puts forward the theory and the method to predict the formation pressure based on historical data and information while drilling, according to the demand and technical support.First, the paper explains the main reasons of forming abnormal formation pressure, summarizes the current existing methods to predict the formation pressure, classifies these methods reasonably into prediction before drilling, monitoring while drilling and testing after drilling. Second, the paper put forwards a data fusion method of multi-source information to predict the formation pressure based on the SVM (Support Vector Machine), summarizes the setup procedure of correlation between different information in detail, and provides the theoretical basis for the fusion of multi-source information. In addition, the paper puts forward a dynamic prediction method of formation pressure based on the historical data and information while drilling, describes the concept, the method and process of establishing geomechanical model in detail, and determines the a dynamic prediction procedure of the real-time corrected formation pressure before, while and after drilling on the base of these. Finally, the paper put forward an overall design scheme of formation pressure prediction and monitoring, developed and finished a set of monitoring software of formation pressure based on Dc index method and Sigma method, and provides a computer-aided tool for prediction and monitoring of formation pressure.In short, the paper preliminarily discusses the theory and the method of the formation pressure prediction based on historical data and information while drilling, puts forward a set of software development scheme about formation pressure prediction and monitoring, and finished parts of the software development task from a technical standpoint.The research of this paper is of great importance to increase the scientificity, accuracy and real-time of formation pressure prediction and to reduce the drilling risk and drilling cost.
