Abstract: The southern song dynasty scholar Cai shen said in his book "CaiShen Ji Zhuan": Chi, Zhen was read for Zhi (黹),same means Zhi(紩).Zhi(紩) ismeaning embroidery. In the Qing dynasty scholar Feng Shao is also said in his book"Feng Shi Jing Shuo Zong Nan":Gu and Qing and Sanzhang said ChiYi.Chi samemeans with Zhi(紩),Zhi is meaning embroidery.The people of Sanzhang(government officials),their upper outer garment embroidery is Fenmi (the patternlike rice,white colour),and the under outer garment embroidery is Fufu(by referringto the dress embroidered colorful decorative pattern). Clothing embroidery, yue Chigarments." So Chi in "Shang Shu"menas is embroidery. Yi, we now see the earliest originated in today’s Weishan Yi Huiautonomous county of Dali Bai autonomous prefecture. Because of its large numberof population, its cultural heritage also obtained the very good protection. Such asYi especially the Chuxiong Yi nationality autonomous prefecture of Yi nationalityin Yunnan province is better retained the original style and features of the Yipeople’s dress, especially their yi embroidery. Current conditions of Yi embroidery in already formed the special industry atnow and the embroidery mainly sales of products is small adorn article includeembroidery, but some of embroidery are machine-made rather than hand-made.Machine-made looked rigid and hand-made looked vivid; the important is someprogram could not by machine-made.Yi embroidery faces many difficulties at present, most useful methods to solvethese difficulties is the market.
