Development Of Overlay Welding Machine With Two Columns

In the continuous casting production, the roller bed is the main equipment to convey the casting blank and connect all processes. And, the continuous casting roller is the key part of the continuous casting roller bed. Its work environment is very bad. Its service life directly affects the operation rate of the continuous casting equipment and the steelmaking production cost. To enhance the service life of the continuous casting roller, the method which is widely applied currently is to weld a layer of the dissimilar metal on the surface of the roller to achieve the local optimization. However, in the production of the overlaying roller, the property of the overlaying machine tool has the direct influence on the overlaying quality of the roller.This paper is conducted based on the research and development of the overlay welding machine with two columns. The main work can be concluded in the following aspects.(1) It analyzes the application situation of the domestic and foreign roller welding machine tool and their development trends. Meanwhile, it summarizes the experience of the company in utilizing the roller welding machine tool for many years.(2) According to the development demands of the company, it develops the overlay welding machine with two columns. It refers to the choice of the overall structure, the main structural design and the finite element analysis of the main parts.After the accomplishment of the welding machine tool manufacturing, through the verification, each parameter satisfies the demand of the design. Especially, it applies the column beam structure. The running system of the welding head is above the beam, far away from the heat source and dust. Besides, it utilizes the gear and rack gear transmission which greatly enhance the reliability. The innovative way of integrating the heating equipment with the machine tool realizes the functions of the automatical temperature measure, automatical record and automatical heating in the welding course, to improve the support capability of the technology.
