Vehicle rear axle is an important component of automobile transmission, andthe axis of the flange welding quality which related to the vehicle safety and theoverall performance of car is especially important. Through analyzing the car of theflange welding process and combining with the functions of modern weldingmachines, we design this double-arm CNC welding machine, which requires acertain pressure of CO2for protection when working. This welding machine can notonly be used to weld vehicle rear axle flange, but also apply to weld symmetricalcircular surface. It adopts double welding arm layout, and has a high takt time,compact structure, simple maintenance for pneumatic transmission. Because ofservo control feedback system, this machine has a high precision, stable weldingand good welding quality. For using PLC as a digital control, it reduces therequirement of operating skills to workers, decreases the labor intensity andimproves the working environment under harmful gas.Focusing on analysis of thedevelopment status and trends of domestic and international welding automation,and the welding process vehicle rear axle, this paper also introduces its designscheme, working principle, mechanical structure, control system design,programming, installation and commissioning. Double-arm CNC welding machinethat meets vehicle rear axle welding process requirements can complete doublelocation at the same time, and manufacture different kinds of components, whichhas enhanced production efficiency and welding quality.
