Vehicle Exhaust Pollution Characteristics And Its Control In Dalian

With the rapid increase of vehicle quantity, the exhaust pollution becomes increasingly serious. The prevention policies on vehicle exhaust pollution and the research on their administration are inadequate. There are little measures effectively capable of controlling the practical pollution from vehicles due to the shortage of information on this aspect. In the paper, Dalian was chosen as the objects to investigate the characteristics of vehicle pollution, and then to measure the emission factors via mode-test actual measurement, finally to get the share ratio of vehicle pollution. Control method was proposed according to the targets of pollutants discharge reduction.The characteristics of nature, physiognomy, climate and transportation were analyzed, indicating the changes of urban traffic, traveling and air quality with increase of vehicle. Beginning with the study of vehicle composition and transportation characteristics, the emission factors of various types of vehicles in Dalian were obtained by the method combined mode-test actual measurement with emission model. And then, according to the quantity and driving distance of various types of vehicles, the present emission status was obtained. The share ratio of vehicle pollution was analyzed, which provides the effective evidence aimed to locate the vehicle types with high exhaust pollution and to make specific management policies. The result shows that heavy-duty vehicles, buses and taxies should be the special manage and control objects. Aiming to reduce the vehicle emission significantly, it is needed to strengthen the maintenance and management of these vehicles, and accelerate the update and elimination, and recommend the use of fuel with higher standard.Based on the data on the vehicle exhaust pollution in Dalian, using accounting method towards the12th five-year plan on exhaust pollution reduction, the goals on the elimination and control for various types of vehicles are proposed. General feasible suggestions on the exhaust pollution control are present, including speeding up elimination of the high pollution vehicle to effectively reduce the air pollution, and further improve the vehicle pollution prevention and management system in Dalian.
