Due to the excellent performance of polyester with many good mechanical properties, chemical stability, high temperature sterilization, it is widely used in medical vivo polyestertextiles, but its poor biocompatibility limits its application in implantable material aspects, somodifying polyester to improve its biocompatibility has its theoretical and practical significance. In this work, It is improved the biocompatibility of the polyester by constructing thehydrophilic surface and grafting bioactive substances heparin sodium. The hydrophilic surfacewas constructed by grafting acrylic acid (AA) using benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as initiator, and thegrafted PET was qualitative characterized its structure by infrared spectroscopy and determinedthe amount of grafted AA by color difference method after dyeing and soaping. The reactioncondition variables (temperature, time, initiator concentration and monomer concentration, etc.)were studied how variables influence the amount of grafted AA and how polyestermorphological structure influence the activation energy of reaction by color difference method. Then heparin was grafted, how modified PET with AA (PET-AA) absorb sodium heparin (Hep)was studied and how pH affect the bond between sodium heparin and toluidine blue(TB),and thecalibration curve of heparin sodium was made by changing the toluidine blue (TB) concentrationand pH value of the reaction system.Experimental results shows that dyeing PET-AA with toluidine blue should choose highertemperature and soaping with weak like neutral detergent. Through the relationship betweemwater washing time and color difference can determine post-processing conditions can completely wash the homopolymer of acrylic acid. AA could be successfully grafted onto PET;Acetone concentration, concentration of acrylic acid and initiator concentration, reaction timeand reaction temperature have an effect to the amount of grafted AA, and finally determine theoptimum reaction conditions of grafting acrylic acid on PET as follows: no acetone, acrylic acidconcentration100ml/L, the initiator concentration1.5g/L, reaction temperature80℃, thereaction time90min; Polyester morphological structure has effect on activation energy, and thepolyester fabric has bigger surface area increasing the diffusion rate, and controlled by diffusion,so the activation energy44.63kJ/mol of film is smaller than the activation energy73.68kJ/molof fabric; reducing pH value can delay the adsorption of PET-AA to TB, when pH value less than1.2, PET-AA almost has no adsorption for TB, TB-Hep ionic bond is slightly influenced, which does not affect the calibration of calibration curves; Using Na2HPO4and NaH2PO4buffer solution (PBS) washing method proves that the PET-AA combined Hep is not in the formof adsorption, but exists in the form of chemical bonds combination, washing conditions weredetermined as: PBS solution bath ratio1:200,6h at a time, total washing time60h. Selected40ug/mL TB concentration, pH=1.0as the calibration curve of heparin sodium and calculatedthe amount of grafted Hep is54.364ug/g.
