With the development of production and technology, and optoelectronics, sensorsand materials technology more and more advanced, the display glass and other hardand brittle materials is becoming widespread in the industry and people’s lives. As avery important method, grinding plays an irreplaceable role in brittle materialsprocessing. To improve the efficiency and quality of the grinding process and reduceprocessing costs, people study more and more new methods of polishing and researchnew grinding tools, and then achieve certain results. Combined fixed abrasivegrinding technology with traditional abrasive manufacturing method, this papersystematically studied the pouring Preparation of resin bond diamond grinding pad forprocessing display glass. The study mainly included formula and preparation processdesign, as well as grinding performance test.In accordance with the preparation process and performance requirements of thegrinding pad, the pouring preparation method was chose, and the types and particlesizes of diamond, additives and the type and amount of the pore-forming materialthat suited were selected. Ultimately the grinding pad specimen formula wasdetermined: the content of the plasticizer dibutyl phthalate and pore-forming agentgraphite particles were2wt%, the diamond abrasive content was33wt%, the liquidepoxy resin and curing agent was41wt%, filler was22wt%and the acceleratorcontent0.25%by weight based on the resin bond amount.According to the solidifying time of epoxy resin system under different contentof promoter and the hardness after molding, Grinding pad curing process was90℃/1h+110℃/1h+130℃/2h after considering DSC analysis, infrared analysis andcasting process.The grinding performance of the grinding pad that mixed diamond with resinbond included grinding efficiency, abrasive resistance, and surface quality and so on.Through the analysis of the grinding performance influencing factors, it was foundthat the cutting force and permanence get better while the surface average roughnessincreased as the sizes become bigger for both the diamond for the original rawmaterials and diamond crushing material. However, the diamond for the original rawmaterials got a better grinding performance in machining screen glass is bigger.Graphite was chosen as pore inducer for it is soft,which can improve the properties of the grinding pad and get a better surface quality.The efficiency and thepermanence of the grinding pad first increased and then dropped as the content ofgraphite increases. While it has little influence on the average roughness and thesurface quality of glass and2wt%can get a good grinding combination property.
