As many countries step into the aging society rapidly,combined with accidentshappen, there are more and more severe impairment people who bring tremendous burdento the society and their families because they are unable to take care of themselves. Forsevere impairment people, bathing is a big challenge; however, these do need bathingbecause of the following three reasons. First, it is necessary to maintain the people’s skinhygiene, promote their skin blood circulation and reduce the complications. Secondly, itprovides a chance to examine if there are any damages in the paralytic body beforebathing. Thirdly, for the handicapped people, bathing is a systemic motion mode. So it isof big necessity to develop bathing technical aids to help them bath。And more importantly,the bathing technical aids must guarantee the safety of the users during bathing because ofsome dangers such as falling down or drowning which will cause severe consequence ifnot be dealt with in time.So we develop wearable bath safety monitoring system which can detect user stateduring bathing and send signal to remote terminal by wireless communication. Wecombine fall detection and drowning detection in one system and detect fall state anddrowning state to guarantee user’s safety. For fall detection, the key is to take fall apartfrom activities of daily life. We put forward our fall detection algorithm by doingexperiments and verify the success rate of the algorithm. For drowning detection, the keyis to combine it with fall detection in one system and assurance the portability of thesystem.In this article, we discuss the hardware and software design, and finally theappearance design. Ultimately, our system is very small and exquisite. And it is stable andvery convenient to use without influencing user’s normal life. It is of great significanceand a wide range of applications.
