Atmospheric volatile organic compounds is a kind of important environmental airpollutants, is the precursor of photochemical smog, directly endanger human healthand life safety, is a hotpots of current research at home and abroad, Thermaldesorption developed in1990s is a kind of effective sampling technology to desorbvolatile organic compounds and semi-volatile organic compounds from the samplematrix or adsorbent desorption and transferred to the gas chromatograph (GC) or gaschromatography mass spectrometry detector (GC/MS) to analysis, this method hasadvantages including green environmental protection, new source directly, highsensitivity, good reproducibility, simple rapid, wide applicable range, etc. This studyadopts thermal desorption gas chromatography mass spectrometry technologyintegrated Masswoks software and standard material qualitative method to identify theatmospheric organic pollutants of setting off fireworks and firecrackers and thesummer and winter atmospheric volatile organic compounds of Lanzhou city in2012..it was concluded that setting off firecrackers generated3kinds of atmosphericpollutants such as Sulfur dioxide, carbon disulfide and furfural. And the Smoke-typefireworks generated24kinds of atmospheric pollutants, including five categories,furans, aldehydes and ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons, esters and phenols.36pollutants were detected in the summer of2012, and characterized22compoundsbelonging to inorganic gases (carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide), alkenes, benzene,polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, of organic ketones aldehydes and organic phenolsix categories,43kinds of substances, were detected in the winter of2012andcharacterized32compounds belonging to the inorganic gases (carbon dioxide, sulfurdioxide)、 paraffins、 olefins、 benzene、 organic alcohol esters、 organic ketoneoxygen-containing heterocyclic organic phenol nine categories. The winteratmosphere types of organic pollutants significantly increased. This can be partlyexplained by use of coal for heating in wintertime. We can see that the Lanzhou City,the summer and winter atmospheric organic pollutants are mainly consist of BTEXand alkanes, mainly formed by motor vehicle exhaust emissions and fuel combustionaccording to similar research.
