| Xi’an is a typical city in the north of China; it has tremendous population and a long history. The city is seriously polluted by parti culate matter, because the vacation of the Spring Festival is in the heating season, and the weather conditions aren’t conducive to the dispersion of pollutants, so the weather is easier to be a fog or haze. During the Spring Festival discharge of fireworks is a tradition of folk, and Xi’an hasn’t prohibited the discharge of fireworks during the Spring Festival, people set off fireworks together during the Spring Festival is very common.According to the data of Ambient air quality and meteorological conditions during the Spring Festival from2010to2012of Xi’an, Analysis of discharge atmospheric pollution generated by the fireworks can be done; through the noise monitoring, sound environmental pollution caused by discharge of fireworks can be analyzed; by the questionnaire results, the health hazard of citizen caused by discharge of fireworks also can be analyzed. The main conclusions are as follows:i. During the Spring Festival of2011, the pollution of NO2, SO2and PM10is more serious, the average mass concentration of NO2and PM10in the area of the People’s Stadium of city are0.0541mg/m3and0.1892mg/m3; also in this year, the whole city’s day average mass concentration of NO2, SO2and PM10during the Spring Festival are27.67%,1.64%,31.18%higher than the days before the Spring Festival, and also52.59%,34.82%,45.72%higher than the days after the festival. The discharge of fireworks is an important source of PM10during the Festival.ii. The study period during the24hours from the New Year’s Eve to the other day in2012, the Leq had maintained at more than55dB (A), and two peaks can be obviously seen; the Lmin is above60dB (A) after20:00p.m., and in O’clock it reached the maximum peak84.5dB (A); the Lmax remained above115dB (A) during20:00to1:00, and the maximum peak is124.5dB (A).iii. According to the results of the questionnaire, there are7.05%of people may have the symptoms of irritability, palpitation and insomnia caused by discharge of fireworks, and6.00%of people may have the symptoms of headaches, breathing difficulties and cough.Finally, some recommendations were given, which can control the pollution of the discharge of fireworks. |
