Orderly assembled colloidal film has the property of light modulation, and itsoptical band gap can be designed by modifying colloidal particle’s characters, suchas its size. Al-doped ZnO (AZO) can absorb ultraviolet (UV) light and transmitvisiblelight at the same time, and the property can be developed by adjusting thefactors like the dosage concentration of Al, annealing temperature, run times of spin,and the morphology. Therefore, it is meaningful to study the optical properties offilms. The main work of this article was to fabricate polystyrene composite colloidalfilm, porous AZO film, and to investigate their optical properties to offerexperimental basis for the potential applications in solar cells and other opticaldevices.PS colloidal particles in the range of200-1500nm are self-assembled byfloating-redeposition method and horizontal cell limited method, and filmsassembled with small particles, large particles and mixed particles are fabricated onthe basis of optimized parameters. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and FiberOptic Spectrometer are used to characterize the microstructure and optical properties,respectively, and the regularity of light modulation is analyzed.AZO film is prepared by Sol-gel method, and the stability of the colloidalsol ischaracterized by a Zeta protentialstat. Properties of the crystal film, such as surfacemorphology, Al content, annealing process, and optical properties, are characterizedby means of SEM, X-Ray Diffraction, Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrum, TG-DTAand optical spectroscopy. We find that the film would have a better crystallization,when the dosageconcentration of Al is5%and the annealing temperature is450℃.Porous film is fabricated by filling the gap of PS colloidal film with preparedAZO colloidal sol, under the optimized condition. The microstructure and opticalproperties of porous AZO films are investigated, and we find that the opticalproperties are significantly improved based on preceding AZO films: transmissionof visible light can reach94%and UV absorption edge becomes steeper.
