Methane explosion is one of the main natural disasters in coal mines, being stronglysudden and destructive. It will have an important significance that how to control the methaneexplosion effectively in reality. The suppression technicals of inert gas and powder are alwaysthe domestic research emphases. Using20L nearly spherical stainless steel explosionexperiment system and choosing CO2, Mg(OH)2and ABC powder as inhibitors, the largest gasexplosion pressure and maximum pressure rise rate of different concentrations of methaneunder the suppression conditions of the powder, the CO2and the both of them are researched,the suppression law and effects for suppressing methane explosion are analysed.The experimental results indicate that: when CO2and Mg(OH)2and ABC powderrespectively suppress methane explosion, the suppression effect of CO2is the best. Adding the8%CO2makes the11%methane explosion’s the peak time of explosion pressure to prolong3.14times, and the maximum explosion pressure and the average rate of pressure riserespectively to reduce28.7%and79.9%. When the methane explosion is suppressed by themixing of Mg(OH)2and CO2, there is certain suppression effect including that the maximumexplosion pressure and the average rate of pressure rise decline; the peak time of explosionpressure prolongs. And when the11%methane is suppressed by the mixing of0.25g/LMg(OH)2and8%CO2, the peak time of explosion pressure prolongs3.76times; the maximumexplosion pressure and the average rate of pressure rise respectively reduces45.6%and79.9%. When the methane explosion is suppressed by the both of ABC and CO2, there isobvious suppression effect including that the maximum explosion pressure and the averagerate of pressure rise decline obviously; the peak time of explosion pressure prolongs obviously.And with increasing the methane concentration, the effect becomes more obvious. Besides that11%methane explosion does not occur, under the condition of the mixing of ABC and CO2which the mass concentrations of ABC powder are0.20g/L,0.25g/L,0.30g/L, and theconcentration of CO2is8%. The research provides the experimental data and makes a certain guiding significance forthe suppressing explosion on mine methane by the gas-solid mixied inhibitors.
