With the development of people’s living quality, bra plays a more and more importantrole in women’s daily life. The moulded bra, compared with the traditional bra, is a kind ofcustomers’ favorite underwear product which is very popular these years. The mostobvious difference between the moulded bra and the traditional bra is that the cup ofmoulded bra or even the whole bra is moulded by the plasticity material under the hightemperature and high pressure environment. As a kind of intimates, bra is a necessity toevery adult female, the study of its pressure comfort can provide more comfortable andmore efficient protect for women, even bring them significant good influence to their innerheart. The goal of this paper is that, during the bra designing process, we can have a goodunderstand of pressure distribution of both the bra and the body, which means that thispaper provides a digital simulateing method and evaluating technology for bra wearingpressure comfort. Through consulting references and practices, we finally decide thispaper’s research method as follows: getting the point cloud data of both body and cup bydifferent3D scanners; adopting3D digital simulation technology to reconstruct the bodyand the moulded bra based on the3D scanning data in different ways due to their differentshape and surface characters, and then, make the two digital geometry models into suitablefinite element models based on the knowledge and application of FEA software ABAQUS;design working condition which should be similar to real condition, then we can get thestress and strain, realize the digital simulation and confirm that the FEA can be used tosimulate the pressure distribution of both body and bra. The main study contents areshowed as follows:(1) constructing methods of3D digital geometry models of both body and bra basedon3D scanning data;(2) pre-processing methods of3D digital geometry models of both body and bra;(3) contact stress analysis of body and bra and their finite element models;(4) digital simulation and the analysis of the contact force between body and bra;In this paper, we realize the digital simulation for the bra’s pressure distribution, thistells us that it’s viable and reliable to simulate the pressure distribution by using FEA. Itcan make bra designers have a better knowledge of the impact on people due to wearingbra, which can be an important factor to guide the design. In this way, bras can be of morehumanistic, full fill women customers needs for the comfortableness and health. If thestudy can get more research with the materials, structure, processing and other parameters,we will forecast the comfortableness and the function of bra by simulation, then build aevaluation system to guide production as well as strengthen both the enterprises’ and bradesigners’competitiveness.
