As important engineering parts of the ever-increasing usage of excavator used inconstruction, mining and coal industry, bucket teeth are required higher performance, which require high hardness and high wear resistance for teeth tip as well as high strengthand high toughness for the other, due to working in high hardness, high corrosive mediamining conditions. However, the traditional casting process cannot meet customers’increasingly high requirements in casting wear-resistant properties, so it is important todevelop new technology and improve the quality of casting in practice.Based on the cooperation between Huazhong University of Science and Technologyand Hubei Genglian Wear-resistant Material and Technology Co., Ltd, compositeinvestment casting process is researched, which includes Vacuum, Lost-wax casting, Steelshot chilling and Vibration pouring. Accordingly, the casting’s properties of mechanical, microstructure and wear resistance for the composite process and the traditionalinvestment casting are tested and compared. Also, LFC” Pouring after Burning” process is attempted to alleviate the problems inthe investment composite process such as poor working condition, heavy work intensityand multiple operation. The burning condition of EPS and STMMA is observed, meanwhile the surface carbon content and mechanical properties of the two foamproduction casting is compared with the investment composite process. The feasibility ofLFC” Pouring after Burning” process is explored. At the same time,” No-flask V-process” is used to improve quality and decrease thecost of flask, which replaces the traditional flask with a model frame without pumping, suction plate and sealed film, and importantly tend to adopt “Level Molding, VerticalPouring” process that benefits directional solidification.
