| Recent years, the regional ecological degradation is a threat to normal life and development. Study of the human and ecosystem degradation mechanisms’ recovery method and management mode is an important area of research regional ecology. Northwest Territories over the years has been the key areas of ecological and environmental protection work in China. with resource development degree improve and intensification of economic and social activities, Arid, low utilization of water resources, over-exploitation and utilization; desertification process faster, serious soil erosion, over-grazing, grassland degradation, frequent mudslides, landslides and other natural disasters; serious environmental pollution problems, has become the biggest problem in our life, also is currently the world’s attention hot issues. Assessment The Ecosystem Pressure and Ecosystem Restoration in Gansu Province, provide an important scientific basis for the Northwest regional ecological environmental protection and economic construction decisions. Through assessment nearly a decade of this area ecosystem stress and ecological restoration, we can Grasp the ecological environment background condition and its variation, put forward the countermeasures and suggestions. The regional ecosystem restoration is conducive to economic development and environmental protection implementations, to provide a reference for stress and ecological restoration of the ecosystem.Based on ecosystem pressure, the value of ecosystem services assessment, and ecological restoration’s characteristics in Gansu Province. Put forward the Regional and sub regional ecological restoration measures.The main conclusions of this research are as follows:(1) Used the value of ecosystem services evaluation method, based on correction. Calculated the different regions the total value of the ecosystem services in Gansu Province in2000,2005,2010. And Combined with the ecological state of the environment in Gansu Province were analyzed and evaluated from the perspective of ecological service function changes. And pave the way for subsequent evaluation work. The results show that:the value of ecosystem services in Gansu Province in2000,2005,2010respectively was179.972billion Yuan,180.520billion Yuan and177.332billion Yuan. Overall, in recent years the value of ecosystem services in Gansu Province is relatively stable. Gansu Province should increase the river ecosystem protection of water resources and construction based on the governance of desertification and soil erosion problems.(2) Based on the main elements of the ecological environment in Gansu Province and ecosystems, and the ecological state of the environment and the main ecological problems, the use of DPSIR model method from the driving force, pressure, state, impact, response to the five aspects of analysis and evaluation and ascertained a set of ecosystem pressure indicators. Used Entropy method calculation and determine the various indicators of the weight value and analysis in various regions of ecosystem pressure have an important role in the factor, and according to the various regions of different indicators value, from the space angle, analysis the single factor of the caused ecological and environmental problems.(3)Used principal component analysis, reflects the indicator significant and inclusive, comprehensive evaluation eco-environmental stress in different times of each unit, the results show that in Gansu province, highest stress index is Jiayuguan, from4.7127in2000increased to5.5833in2010. It showed that the Jiayuguan still serious ecological problems; the Second is Lanzhou, EPI index decreased from2.4590in2000to1.7466in2010. Lanzhou City in ecological and environmental protection work in recent years to be effective, the ecological environment has improved, but still need to strengthen urban ecological construction, improve the urban environment. Ecosystem pressure Composite Index smallest region is of Longnan and the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, the above areas human economic activities have a smaller impact on the ecological environment, the ecological environment is relatively good ecosystem pressure is small, but the accelerated deterioration of grasslands, frequent natural disasters, the ecological environment is still tend to unfavorable direction. So we should speed up the pace of ecological restoration, in order to achieve the sustainable development of the region.(4)Analysis the main problems about ecosystem pressure in Gansu province.
