Rotary ultrasonic grinding is a new machining method that integrates rotarymovement of traditional grinding with ultrasonic oscillation. This fashion could keepdown some excellent grinding characters of Mechanical grinding, greatly increaseprocess rate and effectively improve the effect of grinding surface of difficult-to-cutmaterials (stainless steel and composite material and the like). So in this paper, wedesign and manufacture the grinding device of rotary ultrasonic machining, and havesome different research. the main contents are as follows:First of all, the traditional grinding material removal mechanism, the ultrasonicmachining mechanism, rotary ultrasonic grinding the material removal mechanism wereintroduced,educed the advantages of rotary ultrasonic grinding.Secondly, the introduction and analysis of the experimental apparatus, combinedwith the existing condition, design of transducer, the structure of horn, the end ofultrasonic vibration grinding tool, whole structure, obtained a new rotary ultrasonicgrinding device.Finally, through finite element analysis to determine the optimal resonancefrequency of horn, with reference to the actual design of the ultrasonic horn and thevibration frequence,and through the experimental analysis of several main grindingparameters on surface roughness.
