ABSTRACT: With the rapid development of the industry, the demand forsteel is growing for days, and converter is the most important steel-making equipment,so the converter models also increased, which made the converter tilting body withhuge volume to under considerable tilting moments. In order to reduce the space ofthe equipment and to save costs, so the tilting parameter optimization design of geartransmission system is needed in order to reduce its volume and reduce costs.Thesis on the determination of the shape of vessel made a detailed presentation,using three dimension design software Pro/E established converter, converter supportssystem and part of furnace hydraulic calculation of three-dimensional entity model,and calculate the model of the center of mass, use formulas to calculate air furnace,furnace hydraulic torque and friction, draw a curve of a tilting moment. Throughtilting moment curve analysis to determine the converter best position of the trunnionand the largest tilting moment. Converter tilting mechanism is established in the Pro/Ereducer with gears in the transmission system for three dimensional solid model, andimport models to finite element analysis software ANSYS, analysis of the meshing ofgears, be active primary stress contour and contact stress of gear reducer images, soyou can see the distribution of stress in meshing process of spur gear.This papers using MTLAB software in the Optimization Toolbox for tilting the gearsystem in institutions has constrained optimization, made the tilting mechanism of thetransmission system to meet the performance constraints and geometric constraintsreducing overall volume, reduce manufacturing cost.After the final optimization of tilting driving system using finite elementanalysis software on gear strength analysis, formula to calculate GB checking thecontact stress compared with finite element analysis of contact stress, verify thereasonableness and correctness of optimized gear. Conclusion that the optimization isreasonable and correct.
