In this work, thirteen new coordination polymers, which have never been reported,namely,[Cd(L)(H2O)](1),[Cd(L)2Na2] H2O (2),[Cd(L)(phen)](3),[Cd(L)(phen)]2H2O(4),[Cd2(L)2(biim-2)] H2O (5),[Cd(L)(biim-4)]2H2O (6),[Co(L)(biim-4)] H2O (7),[Cd(L)(btp)](8),[Cd(L)(btb)](9),[Cd(HL)(bth)0.5(H2O)] H2O (10),[Co(HL)(btb)0.5] H2O(11),[Cd(L)(btbp)1.5]4H2O (12), and [Ni(L)(bty) H2O]3H2O (13), where phen=1,10-phenathroline, biim-2=1,2-bis(imidazol-1′-yl)ethane, biim-4=1,1′-(1,4-butanediyl)bis(imidazole), btp=1,3-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propane, btb=1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)butane, bth=1,6-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)hexane, btbp=4,4′-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)biphenyl, bty=1,4-bis(tridazol-1-ylmethyl)-benzene, and H2L=(3-carboxyl-phenyl)-(4-(2-carboxyl-phenyl)-benzyl) ether, have been synthesized and characterized bysingle-crystal X-ray diffraction. In order to investigate the influence of organic anions andN-donor ligands on the structures of the compexes, we have synthesized compounds1-13.Compounds3-5and10-11display1D chains structure, compounds1-2,6-8and12show2D layers and compounds9and13possess3D framworks. In1, the2D layer isfurther stabilized by hydrogen-bonds interaction between the coordinated water moleculesand adjacent carboxylate oxygen atoms. Compound2shows a2D double layer with36·46·53topology. Compounds3and4exhibit similar1D double chains, which are further extendedinto2D supramolecular sheets and3D supramolecular frameworks through π-π interactionsbetween pyridyl rings and phenyl rings, respectively. Compound5furnishes a1D doublechain, which is further extended into a2D supramolecular layer via two kinds of π-πinteractions. Compounds6and7are isostructural, and display the same2D undulatedsheets with44·62topology. Compound8possesses a simple2D sheet structure. Compound9displays a3D (3,4)-connected frameworks with (4·102)(4·103·122) topology. Compounds10and11possess similar1D infinite chains, which are further linked via π-π interactions togenerate2D supramolecular layers. Compound12possesses a2D double layer, which arefurther extended into a3D supramolecular architecture through hydrogen-bondinginteractions. Compound13shows a3D uninodal6-connected framework with44·611topology. The structural and topological differences of the thirteen compounds indicate thatthe L anion and N-donor ligands play important roles in the formation of the finalframework structures. In addition, the thermal behaviors of compounds and luminescent properties of1-6,8-10and12have also been investigated in detail.
