Liquid-magnetic abrasive tool is a new finishing machining method which combined the magnetic fluid rheological principles and mechanical processing method, viscosity is an important parameter of its rheological property. By its processing craft, we know that mainly displays in the process of actual processing are mold zero field viscosity and the apparent viscosity after the magnetic field applied. Due to its viscosity is a changing value and controlled by the magnetic field strength, shear strain rate and the initial viscosity. Clarify the mechanism of viscosity change on the processing performance of effective play is of great significance.Based on the analysis of the composition of the liquid-magnetic abrasive tool characteristics and existing viscosity test method, according to the field-induced dipole moment theory, from a micro and macro perspective, the zero-field viscosity and abrasive magnetic field after the apparent viscosity were analyzed and viscosity change theory model was established, then get the following conclusion:the higher the content of the solid particles and the modifier, the applied magnetic field intensity increases its viscosity value is larger, but the shear rate increases the viscosity values decreases.Secondly, combined with its viscosity test mechanism and determine the basic structure of the viscosity test device. According to specific requirements of the device structure and the data collection and processing, the key component of its component systems was designed. Through the high frequency pulse interpolation subdivision of phase difference method to accurately measure the torque, the reasonable size and structure have been obtained.Finally, based on the analysis of abrasive viscosity characteristics, and combined the hertz stress formula with Preston equation, with controlling the processing time, rotational speed, current and such as wall thickness to optimize the parameters, for aluminum, copper and other parts processing time is less than13min, control and processing speed and the current value is not more than2.5A, the experimental study of the complicated inner surface processing has carried on and the reasonable process parameters are obtained.Therefore analyze the liquid-magnetic abrasive tool viscosity measurement, the establishment and perfection of the theoretical system is not only beneficial to the process, but is helpful to the choice of processing parameters optimization. So the technology can be applied to production practice as soon as possible.
