Research On Planning Of Green Open Space In Urban Agglomeration

In the context of rapid urbanization in China, the ultimate goal and the utmost nodus of various green space planning is to achieve effective protection of green open space, and to establish the coordination mechanism of urban development and ecological protection, especially in urban space and highly networked areas of industrial development and infrastructure construction. Urban built-up area is one of the urban spatial organizational forms, which is the byproduct of the advanced stage of urbanization. It also plays an increasingly important role in the process of national and regional economic development. Therefore, the study on the planning of green open space in urban agglomeration has become meaningful and also an inevitable trend.In order to coordinate urban development and ecological protection, since2005, Guangdong Province has issued a series of specialized and integrated plans of green open space development, and cities in Guangdong have achieved remarkable results through implementation. This study aimed mainly on Dongguan, the Pearl River Delta region’s most representative urban built-up areas, for empirical research, and thus summarized the experiences of Dongguan to propose a set of universal methods.Main findings of this research are as follows: First of all, through the in-depth interpretation from the perspectives of conception, composition and value of urban built-up areas, a basic connotation of green open space has been formed, which set the theoretical foundation for the study of green open spaces in urban built-up areas, and is also the groundwork for the methodologies of future exploration.Secondly, with the help of GIS and RS technologies, and by using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze the evolution of landscape pattern characteristics and internal factors of Dongguan in the past three decades, and study the current situation.Thirdly, green open space system plannings of Dongguan in recent years are organized comprehensively, and the practical experiences which gained when dealing with theses planning issues are summarized in this paper, which covers these six following aspects:①Build a multi-level and multi-type planning system.②Delineate basic ecological control lines scientifically.③Introduce space control approaches.④recreation building system.⑤Develop Eco-industrial park.⑥Establish mechanisms for implementation of safeguards.Finally, based on the summarization of practical planning experience in Dongguan, this study proposes:to build open green space in urban build-up areas, the core is "integration", the security is "coordination"."Integration" means to integrate the key ecological elements, diverse values, powers and policies."Coordination" means to coordinate the relationship between external and internal green open spaces, relationship between construction pattern of green open space and optimization of urban spatial structure, and the coordination of different administrative organizations. Through the "integration" and "coordination", the harmony of urbanization and ecologicalization could be achieved, and the win-win situation among economic, ecological and social aspects could be finally realized.
