Rhizoma Chuanxiong which is a umbellate family plant is Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort.’s dried root and stem.It is genuine medicine of Sichuan and has more than1000years’ planting history.The main effects of Rhizoma Chuanxiong is promoting qi to activate blood, dispelling wind and relieving pain,It is called Gas drug in the blood.The study was carried out with L9(34) orthogonal design to choose the best volatile oil extraction technology,using the volatile oil extraction rate as the index, using three factors includingthe added water, the soaking time,extraction time as the investigation factors.As a result,the best extraction conditions are:adding8times the amount of water,soak for8h, and then refluxing extraction for5h.At last,choosing saturated aqueous solution of β-CD to clathrate volatile oil,through filtration,flashing by Petroleum ether,drying can get the inclusion compound.The remain soup can be extract powder through,filtration,decompression condense drying,crushing.Using wet granulation to make concentrate-granules by choosing starch as accessory and the proportion is1.5:1.2,with75%ethanol as adhesive,then through the20mesh sieve.The concentrate-granules should be drying in50℃for2h,then Packaged in accordance with the amount of the lOg/bag.At last,to research the Rhizoma Chuanxiong’s quality standards and accessory’s quality standards and the concentrate-granules’ quality standards.Trace elements is significant inorganic component of our body,and they play an important role in growth, skeletal development,enhancement immunity ability and so on.The study determined contents of elements such as Mg,Fe,Mn and Zn in Chuanxiong Rhizoma of eight regions by FAAS.The results show that the Chuanxiong Rhizoma samples are rich in trace elements, followed by Mg> Fe> Zn> Mn, Mg content of which is more than3500μg.g-1.the recovery is95.8%—118.0%with the RSD less than1.63%.The contents of elements such as Mg,Fe,Mn,Zn and Cu in Chuanxiong Rhizoma of different parts(roots,root blocks,stems,stipes,leaves) of the same filed were determined by FAAS.As a rusult,the highest content of Mn is in Chuanxiong stipes,which is up to56.3080mg.kg-1.The highest content of Zn is in Chuanxiong leaves,which is up to73.2468mg.kg-1.The highest content of Cu and Fe is in Chuanxiong roots, which is up to734.8727mg.kg-1and507.8962mg.kg-1.The Results Show that the Chuanxiong plants have rich trace elements,and the content is different in various parts.The Results Show That using FAAS to determine the trace elements is stable and reliable,and few spectral interference, high sensitivity, excellent selectivity, easy operation.The method can be applied to the determination of trace elements contents in large batch of samples.
