According to statistics,nearly about200billion tons of mining mineral resources are extracted every year around the world. However, under the unreasonable development and activities, the demage of the ecological environment is aggravating and leading to the deterioration of the ecological environment. We have the consensus that to protect the ecological environment to achieve sustainable development,because any development activities on the ecological environment will cause to different disturbance and destruction. The coal as the main energy source in China, the extracting, treating and utilization of the coal promote the social and economic development, in the meantime it initiates many kind of environmental problems.It is an important subject that scientifically evaluate the effect of strip mining on the ecological environment, coordinate the relationship between the development and protection of ecological environment, and make harmony and unity between the ecological environment benifit and the economic results in society. The purpose of this study is to afford the strategies of ecological environment protection and ecological restoration for open pit mining, in order to giev reference for other similar open-pit mining ecological and environmental protection and recoverypractice.The object of study is open pit coal mining of Zaha Nur Tongliao city.The study including theoretical research and field investigation research.Point the suggestion of Ecological recovery and management of open mining areas, to adjust measures to meet local conditions and to recover the local ecological environment in the maximum degree, thereby to enhance the local economic, ecological, social benefits and other benefits.After the carrying out of the study, it can reduce the soil and water loss in project area, regulate the regional climate, purify the air, beautify the environment and improve the ecological environment of mining area.
