In recent years, the importance of micro-EDM technology is becoming moreand more evident in manufacturing industry. This technique is mainly used in theprocessing of micro parts and high hardness materials, but the micro parts whichcontain complex surfaces must be processed by the multi-axis machine. The micro-EDM of our country is relatively backward, and we have not developed CNCsystem of multi-axis machine which can be used for production. Therefore, in thisthesis, the key parts of the five-axis micro-EDM CNC system are researched. At first, the manner of decoding is determined according to the actual situationof the micro-EDM. Then the process is described and the flow chart of decoding isgiven which completes the processing of the NC code. Then the code must past thetool compensation which ensures the accuracy. In this paper, the end milling way isresearched according to the five-axis micro-EDM machine with double spindle head. The situation of length compensation, radius compensation, divert corner andelectrode wear compensation are researched is this thesis. The processing path which is got after the tool compensation and it must beinterpolated to get the actual cutting path. The interpolation is the core part of theCNC system. The interpolation style of micro-EDM is different from the ordinarymachine. In this thesis, the five-axis interpolation algorithm which includes thelinear and circular interpolation is achieved by compounding the planar two axisinterpolation. Finally, the simulation to test the NC code, which is achieved bysimulating the dynamic process of processing through using the three-dimensionalsoftware OpenGL, is researched. The modeling style of rough and the solvingalgorithm of the processing trajectory are given in this part. The dynamic display ofprocessing is achieved through the double buffer of OpenGL and a timer.
