As heat-transfer/heat-storage media, molten salts have found their wideapplications in solar energy or nuclear energy utilization for low cost, widetemperature range and big heat capacity. Molten nitrate salts is also have wideapplications, Thermal properties of nitrate mainly are measured by experiment, andexperimental methods will cost a lot of manpower and material resources, so it hasconsiderable importance to study the thermal properties of molten nitrate salts.First of all, this paper gives a detailed survey of the thermal property ofconventional nitrate salts after reading a lot of literature, including stability, viscosity, thermal conductivity and so on. After knowning status quo of thermal properties date,it could supply data base for next work. This paper successfully applied the corresponding states principle with shapefactor on the viscosity and thermal conductivity estimation in the nitrite salt, and get abetter estimation results. The maximum deviation of viscosity estimation value andreference value is not more than10.53%while the average deviation is less than3.78%, and The maximum deviation of thermal conductivity estimation value andreference value is not more than9.68%while the average deviation is less than-5.85%. So it could prove that the shape factor corresponding states principle isfessible to calculate nitrite viscosity and thermal conductivity. At the same time, in this paper, the viscosity and thermal conductivity of themixed nitrate were calculated based in the results of the corresponding states principle. The viscosity was calculated by using Frankel and Kendall-Munrae mixed formula, and the maximum deviation of ternary mixture was36.93%and the average deviationwas29.62%, the maximum deviation of the binary nitrate calculated was14.29%, theaverage deviation was13.01%. And the power-law relationship and ZS method wereapplied to estimate the thermal conductivity of the mixed nitrate. Results show that, while the mixture maximum deviation of ternary nitrate is not more than5.14%.This paper has been had a series of stable and reliable value of pure nitrate andmixed nitrate by theoretical calculations. The results achieved to improve thetheoretical basis of the physical properties of the molten nitrate.
