As chief visual characteristics, the wood color and surface finishing of furniture directlyimpact that people cognize the furniture. With the increased demand for environmentallyfinishing and natural wood furniture, the study include interaction among wood color andsurface finishing,technology and test of surface finishing, which will be of great significance.First of all, by means of market survey and corporate intership, this thsis finds main woodmaterials of valuable hardwood furniture in deep color, such as Dalbergin bariensis,Dalbergia-latifolia,Pterocarpus-macarocarpus,Pterocarpus-erinaceusPoir,Swartzia-madagascariensis,Pterocarpus soyauxii; Concludes that the surface finishing have two methods by the lacquer and wax.Than based on the surface finishing of main wood materials application for valuable hardwoodfurniture in deep color, compare with traditional surface finishing technology; Once more usingcolorimetric theory study the wood color changes, collect the parameters of wood color andanalyze the differences between all types of surface finishing and varieties of trees. At last, takethe hot wax technology for example to find out the key process influencing wood color. On thewhole, the main conclusions are as follows:(1) The parameters of raw materials for experiment are in YR and Y color with low valuein Munsell.(2) In the experiment about the wood color changes of different materials, after surfacefinishing, the hue mainly is changed toward red and the range of overall color difference belong“much” or “very much” in visual perception.(3) In the experiment about compared all kinds of surface finishing, find that whatever bywax or lacquer, the value and chromaticity indexes at yellow to blue axis both are reduced; thechromaticity indexes at red to green axis is increased; the range of overall color difference hasbeen changed much and belongs “much” in visual perception; while the saturation by wax isessentially unchanged, it is reduced by lacquer; the hue is obviously changed toward red.(4) In the experiment about wood color changes in processes, take the hot wax technologyfor example, water-based tinting and paint primer are the more important on influencing overallcolor difference changes.(5) It is the most obvious that L*,a*and ΔE*are affected by water-based tinting, while Itis the most obvious that b*and C*are affected by paint primer.
