With the development of geological exploration techniques and the advancement ofautomation degree of land rigs, it puts forward the higher requirements on automation ofthe rigs’ peripheral equipment. In order to adapt the platform that height is12.5meter, itmay increase the working time and cause serious accidents when using the workers or thesimple mechanical equipment only. It is so mature in the device of transporting pipes thatapplying in the offshore drilling platform abroad rather than in my country that using somedevice of lacking intelligence. Then, it is based on the project which the National Deep Exploration and Experiment(SinoProbe-09-05), aimed at developing one device that can transport pipes automaticallynamed Catwalk. It can put the pipes from the ground to the drilling platform in the rig. Andowing to this, it can provide some technical reference on the deep exploration. The project named full hydraulic auto Catwalk is proposed and established with thehelp of analyzing an amount of information on equipment of transporting pipes. Then thelifting system of the full hydraulic auto Catwalk is designed and analyzed in detail.Firstly, the main research topics and methods can be proposed when the information ofthe transporting pipe equipment are studied and analyzed. Compared with the severalschemes, the final solution is established depending on the function of the Catwalk. Then, the structure of lifting system is analyzed in order to meeting the lifting principle in detail. On the other hand, the parameters of hydraulic components are selected exactly. The modelfor dynamics of lifting system is built and analyzed by using principle of Alembert. Thecurves that displacements, angle of the lifting slide, velocity and the lifting force areobtained from the ADAMS based on the model studied that built by the Inventor. Themodel of the rigid-flexible coupling is built in order to be close to the actual operatingsystem. Finally, the key components in the Catwalk are analyzed by using the ANSYS. Asis demonstrated that it could not only reach the goals of the designing but also it canincrease the automation degree of transporting pipe equipment. Besides, it can give the positive reference on the structural optimization and the design of hydraulic systems in thefuture.
