With the strong development of offshore petroleum resources, the ocean industrialequipment, especially offshore platform, is developed rapidly. This paper discusses a specialhydraulic lifting crane on jack-up offshore platforms. Compared with several common cranesolutions and combined with today’s trends, a hydraulic lifting crane used exclusively forjack-up offshore platforms is designed and analyzed.On the basis of the subject design index and technical requirements, the overall schemeof special hydraulic lifting cranes is ensured. The detail design of horizontal moving bridge,telescopic boom components and clamping device are done. The selection and check of keycomponents are completedConsidering factors such as technical requirements and work environment, force analysisunder multi-working conditions is done. According to the results, the device mechanicalanalysis of static characteristic is completed through ANSYS Workbench software. Thenatural frequency and mode shapes of the device are gained by analysis of dynamiccharacteristic. Structurally weak parts are optimized with multi-objective method and thestructural strength of the crane components are improved.Based on the study of theory and methods of multi-body system dynamics, speed,torque and force change curve of the main components are obtained through the multi-bodydynamics simulation of overall crane by ADAMS dynamics simulation software. Based onthe co-simulation of ADAMS and ANSYS, rigid-flexible coupling dynamics simulation isfinished. The reliability of the overall structural strength of the crane is guaranteed viaanalysis of kinetic curves.The design of the hydraulic system circuit is accomplished on the basis of the overallscheme of the crane. With the establishment of the typical hydraulic circuit system,synchronization analysis of the hydraulic system is done by simulink model of MATLAB andits result shows the stability of dual hydraulic cylinders operating in synchronization.
