Design And Implementation Of Oil And Gas Geological Data And Metadata Bibliographic Information Management System

The accumulation of oil and gas geological data provide the necessaryfoundation for carrying out the strategic research of oil and gas resources in a betterway, what determine the value of these data is how fast and extent the collation,integration, management, exchange, sharing and many other factors of these datacould be. With today’s rapid development of information technology, the amount ofoil and gas data resources are increasing rapidly especially these data have diversitycharacteristics of form and content of data. But for now, due to different productionsystems, the storage materials, data models, data standards and precision data formatsof oil and gas geological data are different, which increase the difficulty data usage.Therefore, in order to effectively utilize and conserve petroleum geologicalinformation and data it is necessary to directory the existing oil and gas geologicaldata and to establish metadata information management system.This paper studied the XML technology, STL technology, directory servicestechnology, spatial database technology, ArcGIS Engine development technology,focused on the standardization of the oil and gas geological data preprocessingmethods and delevoped of relevant content oil and gas geological data metadatastandards according to the "geological information metadata standard". Based on theneeds analysis system design is completed, the meta database is built, a system isdeveloped with several function modules such as data import, retrieve grouping, dataquery, metadata management, XML parsing, user control to achieve the efficientmanagement of geological data for oil and gas.
