At present, the problems of floods, drought and water ecological environment deterioration have become the important factors which restrict the development of Chinese economy and society. Taihu Basin area is a river area centered Taihu, which located in the southern margin of the Yangtze River Delta and as a tributary area of the Yangtze River system. Since it is bound by river or sea, Taihu Basin area are under the double threats of storm surge and the Yangtze River flood. This paper established a prediction and management system about the hydrology of the Taihu Basin area, which can predict weather and other parameters at real time, then figure out a management scheme via a man-machine pattern, and own various intelligent functions. This software has significant practical value for assisting floods protection and management of water resources, and also can effectively help composition of hydrology prediction report and system’s management. At the same time, this software can yield huge economic benefit.In order to explore the hydrologic and meteorological element’change law of mountainous region of Taihu basin area, this paper conducted Distributed Hydrological Simulation to the mountainous region of Taihu basin area at first. Then, this paper launched an accuracy evaluation to the program for flood forecasting of part sites at the mountain region of the Taihu Basin area, to provide scientific reference for the development and management of water resources and reservoir management during flood season or withered water period.By collecting and arranging the information about drainage basin of mountain region of Taihu basin area, exploitation of land and soil, as well as hydrologic and meteorological data, this paper constructed the distributed hydrological model about the mountainous region of Taihu basin area which based on EasyDHM hydrological simulation platform. Then, based on the above research, this paper completed calibration and validation of parameters for several parameter subareas, which obtained a good simulation result, and gained a distributed floods forecasting program of this region. In general, the floods forecasting program based on the Distributed Hydrological Model reached the level of second class, and part of it even reached the level of first class. Among floods forecasting evaluation of five sites, one site reached the level of first class considering the forecasting accuracy. Among other remains, two sites’pass rate of prediction reached80%which illustrated that the EasyDHM performed well in the floods simulation of mountain region of Taihu basin area, and the average accuracy of forecasting reached or approached the level of first class. Hence, this model can be used in the floods forecasting of mountain region of Taihu basin area in short term. The EasyDHM model has clear structure, distinct physical meaning, and can be widely applied. At the same time, since it can gain a high-fidelity in the simulation, this model can lay the foundation of the practical arrangement, management and floods forecasting for Distributed Hydrologic Model.
