Nowadays the water carriage markets are developing fast, shipping transport has become an important part of transportation. More and more ships shuttle in waters, more and more docks are under planning and building, which would bring some problems about pollution to the waterway, so the pollutant forecast is very important here. The key to forecast the pollution is to study the water flow. Flow is the power of the system. As different simulation models of tidal flow in waterway can only be applied to different given waters, the study of model applied in different situation is necessary and which will provide the forecast model more accurate result.The main content of the paper is the chemical diffusion behavior in waters. So the selection of waters takes the seacoast into account which only affected by the tide, and also study the inner river which only affected by runoff. Besides the study focuses on the tidal waterway as well. The property of chemicals and the behavior after leakage are studied in chapter2. The main content, the numerical solution and the principle of a flow model are studied in chapter3. After which some famous models nowadays are introduced and the characteristics of them are concluded. The solution methods and realization forms of the model POM and Flowcoast are emphasized by analyzing the different methods, coordinate change etc. The methods mentioned above are applied in chapter5to establish Yangtze river Zhenjiang port hydrodynamic model and chemical transport model, and Yueyang port, Panjin Port as well. After calculation we can get the distribution law of the concentration change in waters. The results show that when the runoff is dominant in flow, Flowcoast is suitable to apply, otherwise, if the tidal fact is dominant, POM is better.The diffusion forecast of chemical in water relates to the accuracy of the result and feasibility of the system. The conclusion summed up by the paper can provide fine numerical result and show the information which can be used in emergency situation including location of leaking material, concentration distribution and the length of the polluted coast etc.. The conclusion of the paper can also serve for the related Emergency Response and offer relevant scientific basis for organization of marine environmental management.
