This paper conducts a study on the regional geologic background, stratum, geologicstructure and magmatic rocks in north Qingyang County based upon1/25000geologicalsurvey,1/50000high-precision magnetic survey,1/50000stream sediment survey andmassive amounts of data of previous work. In field study we found the completeOrdovician strata, measured Yaojiawan Ordovician profile and Bafangcun Ordovicianprofile. This paper redistricted the geological tectonic units and intrusion rock units. Itanalyses the typical ore deposit characteristics, the ore-forming elements, and thecharacteristics of geophysical anomaly and geochemical anomaly. It also conducts asummary on the region minerogenetic regularity. Based on the above-mentioned work,this paper evaluates the copper mineralization condition, circles eight favorable areasfor mineralization, points out the key areas for the next step and offers proposals onsetting Porphyry copper deposit as the main deposit type in this area.
