Jiujiang-Ruichang area, locates in the north part of Jiangxi Province, has an excellent metallogenic conditions, large resource potentials, abundant nonferrous and precious metal mineral deposits, including copper, molybdenum, lead, zinc, gold, silver, sulfur, etc., in which copper (gold) mineral resources are the most important ones. More than 20 copper polymetallic ore deposits (occurrences) have been found in this area, such as Chengmenshan and Wushan copper deposits, Yangjishan and Wujia gold deposits, Baiyangfan silver deposit, Dingjiashan copper deposit and many medium-sized ore deposits and occurrences. With in-depth exploration work going on in recent years, we have achieved fruitful prospecting results not only in the periphery of the two major prospecting districts in the Juirui region, but also got further understanding in metallogenic regularity and metallogenic model of typical ore deposits in Chengmenshan and Wushan deposits. The research results show that the mineralization depth can reach 1000 m below the surface in Jiurui region along the Chengmenshan-Fengshandong basement faults, which form a northwestern distribution belt of copper polymetallic ores. The orebody occurs at shallow depths in the contact zone between magmatic rocks and the carbonate rocks to form skarn type deposit, and at depths the orebody occurs in the adjacent deep formations between Wutong and Huanglong unconformity interfaces between siliceous rocks and carbonate rocks to form gently inclined stratabound massive sulphide ore deposit. The exploration work carried out at Chengmenshan and Wushan deposits showed a variety of distribution and enrichment of the ore-forming elements. In the Wushan deposit, the massive sulfide type copper polymetallic ore body extends continued to the west for a long distance and shows the normal elements distribution pattern from copper to zinc and silver enrichment, whereas to the east direction, the mineralization extend only 400 meters with mostly gold and copper enrichment. In the eastern side of the Chengmenshan mine, the massive sulfide copper polymetallic type ore bodies extend more than 1200 meters towards the east, clearly showing a normal element zoning from the copper to lead, zinc and silver. In the western side of the Chengmenshan mine, mineralization is much weaker than the eastern side, extending less than 500 meters. The orebody distribution asymmetry makes us put forward a new thinking for the metallogenic patterns in the Juirui region. Our preliminary view suggests that the magma and the ore-forming fluid have undergone the influence of the Earth rotation in the process of assault on forming a "tornado" counterclockwise spiral migration way, in the vanguard of the magma migration path are more likely to react, enrich and precipitate the ore-forming fluid and mineralization. In summary, we carried out an in-depth study on metallogenic regularity and metallogenic model of the Wushan and Chengmenshan deposits, and exploration at depths on two selected areas of Dengjiashan—Dongleiwan—Tongjianglin and Dalang—Wushijie areas. We proposed new tectonic patterns, new morphology and distribution patterns of magma as well as hydrothermal fluids to prospect favorable metallogenic and geological conditions by applying specific geological analysis, combined with typical geological section and geophysical profile abnormalities. Using these evidences, we have pointed out the favorable prospecting locations in the two areas, which are helpful for further ore-prospecting work in the region.
