Image change detection technology can detect the same object point varies with time differences, so as to monitor the development of the region, change detection techniques in crop growth condition monitoring, environmental monitoring, disaster estimates, land use, deforestation monitoring, etc. have a mature application, the technology has been successfully used in many fields, becoming an important research area changes adjunct to lead the development direction of cutting-edge science.’This paper discusses the change detection techniques based on remote sensing images of rare-earth mine in practical application of rare-earth mine in the research process, China has established a multi-objective development of mineral resources survey and monitoring of remote sensing technology standards (provisional), and established a many extraction methods change map plaques.Many areas of rare-earth resources are indispensable raw materials, modern technology is an important resource needed, it has a high economic efficiency. With the wide application of rare-earth, rare-earth resources in mining activities become more frequent, serious overexploitation. Therefore, the real-time monitoring of rare-earth mining has become an important means of protecting the environment and conserving resources.In this paper, Landsat-TM/ETM+and HJ-1/CCD data due lush local vegetation cover, first calculate the area of vegetation coverage, changes in vegetation coverage from timely monitoring of rare-earth mining activities, the use of the thinking of setting thresholds changes in the region to determine, respectively, using human-computer interaction, and two methods to automatically determine the threshold set for the southern region of Jiangxi rare-earth two decades of mining research to monitor the changes and make recommendations to protect. The results show that from the perspective of selected data, domestic HJ satellite precision to meet the requirements of dynamic monitoring of changes in the mine; research methods to determine the change in the threshold, the threshold is determined by comparison of the two methods, human-computer interaction can accurately extract changes area, the accuracy was94%, but in the manual to find the workload when changing polygons; EM algorithm can determine the threshold semi-automated, in determining the threshold calculation and analysis process, the results of reliable scientific accuracy of90%, not only improve the accuracy even improve work efficiency; herein unified determine the type of change in plaque made changes in their result, according to local mining data to be determined by the results of the repair manual inspection, the dynamic change in the mine after being corrected as the EM algorithm reference image.
