With the development of science and technology, deep drilling is carried out, makingautomated drilling equipment an inevitable trend. Automated drilling equipment can reducelabor intensity and improve drilling efficiency, through reducing accidents during drillingchance to optimize the drilling process. Automation can replace manual drilling equipment tocomplete a lot of work.Rod automatic transferring system is an important part of the drilling equipment. Theautomatic rod transferring system can reduce accidents during movement. The system is studiedabroad since the1940s.So far, the technology has become mature and broader application;domestic research started late, mainly used in oil rigs and offshore drilling. Based on theresearch civil and abroad, automatic rod memory storage is developed. In this paper, automatic rod memory storage, based on the overall system design, mechanical analysis, dynamic simulation and other relevant aspects of the research are carriedout. The work mainly lies in the following aspects:Firstly, the research background and significance of the rod automatic memory storage aresummarized. The characteristics of the transport mechanism are analyzed. Secondly, on the basisof the types of the drill rod in this project, three different programs of automatic rod memorystorage are initially identified. The final delivery storage programs are developed. Afterdetermining the transmission scheme, the corresponding units are designed, and athree-dimensional model is developed. The structure of the memory storage is optimized basedon its mechanical properties. To figure out the relationship between the velocity and accelerationduring transmitting, the dynamic analysis and simulation of the simplified model are conducted.
