The study area is located in the southwest margin of Erdos Basin, belonging to the Ningxia Guyuan region.From bottom to top of the study area, there are two sets of oil-bearing series, named the Yanchang Formation of Triassic and Jurassic Yanan formation.And the reservoir type is mainly structural-lithologic reservoir. The unique geological and geomorphological environment of Guyuan area has brought great challenges for oil and gas exploration. Conventional seismic exploration has technical difficulties in data acquisition and the quality of seismic data is very bad. The low signal-to-noise ratio and some unfavorable factors of low frequency had limited the application of deep oil and gas detection technology.In order to expand the exploration results and expand new areas of prospection.In2012Changqing Oilfield Exploration and Development Research Institute cooperate with Wide Field subject group of Central South University, develop3dimensional wide-field electromagnetic prospecting work in the region of Guyuan.The total quantity of work is about100km2, including eleven10km length lines,110km totally.We use the static correction, denoising, qualitative analysis (analysis of curve type and psusection map of apparent resitivity), quantitative analysis (one-dimensional continuous medium inversion,2D continuum inversion and3D continuum inversion techniques) in Wide field electromagnetic method data processing and interpretation. We always adhere to the wide field electromagnetic method and drilling, geological data comprehensive interpretation in the interpretation process principle. Through comprehensive analysis and interpretation of data, we develop a set of deep oil and gas resources in wide-area electromagnetic method to identify the technical flow; with detailed description of the study area and low amplitude structural development situation; we propose9new favorable exploration areas.
