As technology continues to progress, the multi-beam bathymetric technology continuesto go forward. Multi-beam echo-sounder has many advantages such as large measurementrange, high speed and high accuracy. But at the same, multi-beam bathymetric system isbulky and expensive. And its operation is complex, installation is complicated. All these arerestricting the promotion of multi-beam in domestic. In order to meet the majority of smalland medium-sized customers’ demand, the paper mainly investigates acquisition and controlsystem design and implementation, background of portable simple and high precisionportable multi-beam echo-sounder.Firstly the paper puts forward feasible designs for acquisition and control systemplatform. According to the system’s easy type and low-cost requirements, SOPC hardwareand software co-processing program based on a single FPGA is choosen. The keytechnologies are analyzed and demonstrated. The development environment of the systemincludes Altium Designer、Multisim、Quartus Ⅱ、SOPC Builder、Nios Ⅱ Eclipse andModelsim。Hardware circuit for multi-channel data acquisition is designed. Various elements areanalyzed and designed from the chip selection and power solutions to various systemfunction modules and various interface. Then the paper finishes the schematic design ininviroment of Altium Designer. At the principles of minimum noise and minimuminterference, author finishes acquisition and control board PCB design.On basis of hardware circuit, SOPC platform is build. All peripherals and Nios Ⅱ coreare added to SOPC system. Software code for the Nios Ⅱ soft-core is written to achieveperipheral device control or peripheral interface control. Finally thesis finishes64-way datacollection and the entire system’s control for portable multi-beam echo-sounder.After research work, acquisition and control board participated the whole system jointdebugging, and then tank test, songhuahu lake test. These experiments verified that portablemulti-beam echo-sounder is feasible. And also the acquisition and control system workingstate is stable, and performance is excellent. The design achieves desired requirements.
