The iron&copper mine at the downstream of Laling Gaoli River locates at theeast part of the lead, zinc, cobalt (gold, tin, stibium, and bismuth) sub-metallogenicbelt of the hercynian period of Yema Spring–Kaimuqi River, along which a largebatch of ore deposits (occurrences) have been founded. Through comprehensive studyon the geological background, ore block occurrence features, ore body features, orecomposition, ore-body surrounding rock, and horse-stone as well as mineralgeneration sequence within the area, the paper systematically summarizes thegeologic features of the ore deposits; through research on the ore-controlling factors, ore formation regularity, clue for prospecting, and metallogenic prediction theories, the paper scientifically analyzes the significant magnetic anomalies and favorablemetallogenic sections, so as to determine the prospecting target area, and achieve thecomprehensive evaluation as well as scientific analysis.1. The research area belongs to Qimantage-Dulan Orogenic Subzone, whose orebodies are mostly distributed in Skarn belt, which are corresponding with magneticanomaly. The ore body scales are mainly small and medium-sized, and their ore typesare mainly magnetite and copper pyrites, and a few blende and galena, and the gangueminerals are mainly garnet, diopside, calcite, etc. The structures of magnetic iron oreare mainly subhedral-allotriomorphic granoblastic texture and cataclastic texture, and the structures of copper and zinc ores are mainly allotriomorphic granoblastictexture, metasomatic texture, poikilitic texture and emulsion droplet structure, and theconstitutions of magnetic iron ore are mainly disseminated and compact bulk shaped, and those of cooper and zinc ores are mainly sparse disseminated structure, and thewall rock alteration mainly tends to be skarn, followed by chlorite and carbonatation.2. Through research on the contact zone features, mineral association, symbioticand associated relationships of the ore body, and the analysis in respect ofgeotectonics, the paper has the following conclusions on the metallogenic model ofthe ore deposit: the small-scale mid-depth to hypabyssal variscan offwhite maculosusmonzonitic granite (πηγ4c) plays an dual functions as the material source and heat source for the metallogenic process, and the intraformational joint and fracture, etc.play the roles as material migration pathway and ore containing structure, and thefracture structure may play as the ore conducting structure (maybe the channel forimmigrating ore solution), but play no leading role in the formation of the ore bodies.3. Through summarization of geological data and field study, it can be seen thatore bodies mainly originate at the contact zone between the ore body and thesurrounding rocks and nearby it, which is influenced by stratum, intrusive rock andthe structure. Specifically speaking: the beach and gully mountain group scrap rockgroups (O3tna) are the major ore containing stratum of iron ore, and the magnetic orebody output is closely related with marble, which is specifically embodied as the factthat in most of the regions, the iron ore surrounding rock is skarn, and in some of theregions, quartzose sandstone and marble are the majority; the carboniferous systemlower series Dagangou group (C12d) is the major ore containing stratum of iron-richmetal mineral, whose contact site with variscan maculosus monzonitic granite body(πηγ4d) is easy to form hornstone and skarn, and is often coupled with iron-rich metalmineral; the copper-rich metal mineral body is generally presented as stringer filledalong the fracture.4. Through analysis of ore-controlling factors, ore formation regularity, prospecting clue, and the magnetic anomaly features, the paper has put forward thedirection for further prospecting in the research area, and concludes that the anomalydeep place of M2has the potential for prospecting concealed magnetic ore bodies, andthe low and even anomaly area at the south part of M4has the potential forprospecting copper-rich ore bodies.
