Singular optics which researches subtle and complex structure of optical fields, such as the wavefront dislocations and wavefront topology near phase singularities. Recently, because of their theoretical importance and attractive potential applications in optical manipulation and optical communication, singular optics develops rapidly. The research interest has been extended from dealing with field amplitude to treating field amplitude, and the research area has been extended from the scalar field to the vector field. Polarization singularities (C points and L lines are two typical the polarization singularities) can be described by coherent matrix, can also be described by complex scalar Stokes field (In this way, the polarization singularities are Stokes singularities, which include S12(C points), S23, S31singularity, C-lines and L-lines). Stokes singularities from coherent and incoherent superposition of two vector light field are composite Stokes singularities. The amplitude ratio of the polarization singularities is studied. The influence of amplitude ratio have been studied on composite Stokes singularities in the coherent and incoherent superposition, whose major contents are as follows. The influence of the amplitude ratio on composite Stokes singularities formed the par-axial vector beams of monochromatic coherent superposition and incoherent superposition field, is studied. The results show that, the polarization singularity number, position and singularity index are affected by amplitude ratio. Selecting appropriate amplitude ratio, the motion(C-points,S23,S31), creation(S23), annihilation(S23,S31) of composite Stokes singularities, the reversal of the singularity index(S23,S31) and the handedness(C-points) may take place in the free-space propagation. The results presented in this thesis offering a deep understanding of the composite Stokes singularities, and the choice of the parameters of the amplitude ratio. The atomic capture, particle manipulation, optical communications, optoelectronics and optical information processing are potential applications of composite Stokes singularities.
