Analysis On The Plant Landscape Creation Of Santaishan Scenic Area In Hangzhou West Lake

Plants landscape and cultural landscape were fused in Santaishan Scenic Area which hasprofound culture. According to local conditions, the environment was used adroitly, plants andother garden design elements were combined aritsitcally. The abundant waterfront landscape andthe vivid stream landscape were constructed. The landscape originated from the nature, butsurpassed the nature, and finally a secluded and quiet artistic conception of landscape was created.Open public park of Santaishan Scenic Area in Hangzhou West Lake was used as the researchsubject. Along the sightseeing routes,42plots were set up to investigate the plants community andthe spatial structures of plants landscape. Based on the field survey, the plants landscape wasanalyzed, which included the characteristics of plants species composition, the structures of plantscommunity, the situations of plant seasonal variation, the plant spaces arrangement, and so on. Theresults showed that there were4types of combination spaces, including open space, semi-openspace, covering space and vertical space. Meanwhile, based on the combinations of plantslandscape space, the ornamental features of plants and enclosure degree, and the structuralcharacteristics of4typical plant combination spaces were analyzed. According to these, thegeneral characteristics of plant landscape spaces and artistic conception of Santaishan Scenic Areawere summarized. The main research results are as follows:（1）According to the analysis of plant community structures and diversity of species,256species,191genus,90families of the main species were recorded, which included12species,10genus,6families of gymnosperm and244species,181genus,84families of angiosperm. Basedon the growth type of plants, the main plant species included81species of arbors,69species ofshrubs,87species of herbs,13species of liana,6species of bamboo. The structure of plantcommunity was given priority to the arbor-shrub-herb structure. The average of richness indexwas8.44, the average of Shannon-Weiner index was1.50, the average of Pielou index was0.74,the average of Simpson index was0.48.（2）The seasonal plants landscape of Santaishan Scenic Area was proved obviously in thechronological order of the changing seasons. The ornamental feature of plants was showedgracefully. There were mainly flower plants in spring and summer, and the main colours werewhite and pink-red. The foliage plants were appreciated in autumn, which colours most included red and yellow. The beauty of plants form were enjoyed by many people in winter.（3）Based on the analysis of plant spatial sequence along the sightseeing routes, severaltypes of plant spaces were constructed. there were2open spaces,20semi-open spaces,18covering spaces and2vertical spaces in42plots, thus it can be seen that the semi-open spaces andcovering spaces occupied the main position. The two types of spaces which had a higher canopydensity and privacy provided the spiritual life environment for the tourists.
