The study of gas discharge involves the science developing, environmentalprotection, socical production and many other fields. Many effects of thedischarge process have played important roles in the day-to-day production andindustrial manufacturing.During the discharge process, a large number of charged particles, includingpositive ions, negative ions and electrons, are in a complicated motion state andform fields of plasma where can be neutral. In these fields, electric magneticforce decides the particles’ activity and leads the oscillations of waves, instabilityand so on, making them radiate out lots of photons. By analyzing the spectralinformation of gas discharge, it can work out the associated parameters of theseparticles and analyze the macroscopic phenomenon from the microscopic processof discharge, and thus better realize its application value.The paper designs the system to collect the gas discharge spectrum, whichincludes two parts, device of spectrum detection and device named synchronouscontroller. The former mainly contains some optical equipments, spectrometer,ICCD and the computer. And it is responsible for collecting gas dischargespectrum signal and then the computer makes the electrical signal digital. Theuse of synchronous device is mainly to start the gas discharge and ICCDcontroller at the same moment. It uses DSP to digitize the voltage single and withthe help of software, it starts the ICCD to collect spectral information.According to the spectrum information of air discharge in this experiment,combining the plasma calculation method, it can work out the electrontemperature and its density. With the same theory and method, it also can workout the results of SF6discharge by analyzing the spectrum information obtainedfrom the reference as the experiment devices condition.Spectrum analysis provides a better way for learning gas discharge. It would be significant to the study of discharge mechanism to explain the discharge ruleson the micro level.
