Continuous relative gravity observation can provide information on three aspects:slowly changes of gravity field, tidal gravity and the high-frequency informationsuperimposed on tidal curve. gPhone is a kind of continuous observation relativegravity meter with high sensitivity. Compared to the traditional DZW and GS15gravimeter which samples in minutes, gPhone gravity meter not only have greatimprovement in observation accuracy, but also perform well in samplingrate—upgrading sampling rate to seconds from minutes, which means richerhigh-frequency information. As a result, in order to understand the link between thevariation of gravity and earthquake preparation more clearly, we will study sourcerupture process research with the high-frequency seismic signal recorded by thegPhone station gravimeter, to explore and do supplements for data sources andresearch methods, and provide a basis for strengthening the application of datafederation in future.Authenticity and reliability of data is the basis of scientific theory andapplication research. Although gPhone gravity meter have been proved to be a greatimprovement in both observation accuracy and information content, the point thatdata in seconds of gPhone gravity meter is a real response to geophysical signal hasnever been verified. Centre on this problem, this paper mainly undertake thefollowing tasks:1. Based on a general overview of the development and significance ofresearches on source rupture process, and a brief introduction of the link between thevariation of gravity and earthquake preparation, the needs and importance of studyingthis subject was proposed.2. The components, working principle and technical indicators of gPhone gravitymeter, And then raw data correction, calculation of gravity wave synthesis, correctionof atmospheric gravity effects, fitting of instrument drift and some other calculations,and the corresponding theoretical models are expounded.3. Compared to observational data of gPhone gravity meter, STS-2seismometerin the earthquake, we found that gPhone gravimeter and seismic data fits very well,after analysis on the processing speed integral,this paper reaches the conclusions thatthe response of gPhone gravity meter in the earthquake period is a true record of geophysical signals.4. With the observational data of gPhone gravity meter during the Wenchuanearthquake, by means of empirical Green’s function and synthesizing theory graphics,compared with the inverted results from seismic data, we proved that thehigh-frequency data of gPhone can be greatly used in the research of the sourcerupture process.
